Nokia 5300 is a mobile phone designed mostly for fun, than mobile phone functionality. It has keys that control the music player, a 1.3 megapixel camera and a QVGA resolution TFT display. you can also enjoy a great connectivity, with the misi USB jack and multimedia features, using the 3.5 mm standard audio jack and the Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo support.
The retail package includes a headset HS-47, 1 256MB microSD card, a 3.5mm standard audio jack adapter. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a USB cable included.
The Nokia 5300 aims at young audience, due to it’s sportive design and functionalities. There’s no doubt this mobile phone is built for fun.
The mobile phone measures 92.4 x 48.2 x 20.7, being a normal size slider phone. On the left side, near the display, it has 3 music keys ( back, play/pause and forward ), covered by rubber. They are very well positioned and lovely to press.
On the bottom side it has the mini USB port, the charger port and the on/off button. On the right side, there are the volume keys and camera shutter.
The 1.3 megapixel camera is placed on the back of the phone and offer a whopping 8x digital zoom. The camera takes photos at good speeds, about 3 seconds in normal conditions and 4-5 seconds in poor light conditions. IT’s maximum resolution is 1280 x 1024, offeres seversal image effects and the photo quality is pretty low, comparing to other 1.3 megapixel phones.
The Nokia 5300 has a low capacity battery, of 760 mAh and should have a lifetime of 223 hours and standby and 3.2 hours of talk time. The microSD memory card slot is pretty well placed, being hot swappable. You only have to takeoff the cover to get to it.
The phone is very smooth to open and close, it’s keyboard is great, with keys being very easy to touch, great for SMS writing.
It’s using an updated interface of Nokia series 40, which is pretty nice, functional and customizable. It also has the Flash Lite 2.0 Application, which is great. Also, it is close to the symbian versions, due to it’s active display option, which puts on the display the calendar meetings, playing songs and other useful stuff.
The Nokia 5300’s memory can hold up to 1000 contacts with lots of details each.
The Music Player is very good and can play a lot of file types: AAC, AAC+, eAAC, eAAC+, MP3, MP4, WMA, and AMR.
