The Bad: The design of the MOTORAZR maxx Ve may not be for everybody. While the 2 mega pixel camera does offer good quality pictures, the video quality is lacking and can become grainy. The camera can only be activated when the phone is open, which can be annoying as well.
The Bottom Line: The Motorola MOTORAZR maxx Ve is an all-rounder, with features that will appeal to the majority of those looking for a cell phone that offers more than just text and phone functionality. Some may be put off by Motorola deciding to include Bluetooth v1.2 rather than the v2.0 seen in other handsets.
The Good: The features on this phone are quite easy to use. One of the features of the Motorola W315 that will definitely come in handy is the speaker phone, which will allow you to talk on your mobile phone while still be able to use both of your hands for driving. The design of the mobile phone is also quite modern and popular as it uses the vertical, rectangular display that a lot of the other mobile phones that are on the market today are also using. You will more than likely also like the fact that it will store more than 500 contacts.
The Bad: You may find that you do not like the internal display on this mobile phone. While it can support 65,000 different colors, these colors look dull, which makes it somewhat difficult read. The controls are flat and quite spacious, but they are a bit clunky when you are using them. Another thing that you may dislike is that whenever you are talking on the phone, the volume level seems to fade in and out a bit. Motorola showed Tuesday that it has no intention of abandoning its iconic RAZR brand, even though the popular wireless phone has become a weight on the company’s bottom line.
At a gathering in New York, the wireless-device maker lifted the wraps on a new, thinner RAZR that will hit the markets this summer — where it may compete against Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone.
“The RAZR is not just a product — it’s a brand,” Chief Executive Ed Zander said at the gathering, which was broadcast over the Web. “This is a brand we’ll continue to market for years to come.”
That stance shows the company’s loyalty to a product that has become one of the most popular wireless handsets on the market. By the end of this quarter, more than 100 million units will have shipped to date, Zander said.
But the RAZR has also featured prominently in the company’s recent troubles. Motorola slashed prices on the device last year to keep up its market share. As a result, consumers ignored the company’s higher-priced models such as the KRZR, which hurt its bottom line.
